June 10, 2022—Fix Auto Escondido is engaging with its community while simultaneously spreading information about industry opportunities to ensure a strong future for collision repair.
According to a press release, the store recently participated in two events for its local California community.
“The Transpo Expo and the USA Multicultural Cinco de Mayo Festival play an important role in our San Diego community, bringing together different people from diverse backgrounds,” Fix Auto Escondido owner Kirk Henson said in the press release. “We want to provide opportunities for new talent within our community because skilled workers are essential to our industry and our economy.”
In addition to community involvement, the shop also offers an internship program that allows those interested in the collision repair field to learn more. Fix Auto Escondido recently recruited three interns to the team.
“We’re big proponents of continuing education because our industry is constantly changing and we must learn to change along with it,” Henson said in the press release. “Providing this important hands-on training early in their career helps young students stand out in an industry full of potential.”
One of the interns was hired through a partnership with Palomar College Technical Careers. The other two interns are still students at Escondido Union High School. Upon graduation, they will become full-time employees at Fix Auto Escondido.
